GIANTS........all the way
Besides Martin an Harmonic, nobody on this team knows how to throw a check, or check someone off the puck or move someone off the crease.
If you can not score a goal, then learn how to use your body to CHECK!!!!!!!
There is to many players that play a finess game, an stick check, will not work in the NHL.
Dont be fooled by this teams mini winning streaks, b/c they lack talented players. Snow better pull a rabbit out of his arse, or we are gonna be the same next year also......... |

Dee Karl: No Passion Loses a Point to the Sabres
Game recap & opinion: - Dee Karl
Why Monty in net when Nabby has been playing so well and has earned No. 1 status?
People keep forgetting....Al was never a #1 in the NHL. He STILL isn't and never will be.
And the team has really played much better, overall, since he's been sidelined.
Stats don't lie.
Coincidence? |

I agree. Nabby needs to play these games. I have much more faith in Poulin at this point. |

They played him because he needs some time... once Nabby is traded Al is the man the rest of the way.. like it or not.

If the Isles are serious about making a playoff run they need to play Nabby. Al is too shaky this year. If Nabby gets traded then Poulin should be the guy. Poulin has the stuff to be the number 1 guy. |

I have been VERY critical of Poulin this season, But if he plays like he has the last couple months in the A & can play, like he did in Ottawa... I dont see why he shouldnt be given a chance to run with it. especially if Nabby gets traded.

It's not so much turning on Al it's about going with the better goalie. This late in the season is not the time to try to get Al back on track. The Isles have to decide are they serious about making the playoffs. If so then Snow needs to make moves now and the coach has to play the best players now matter what. |

We would be discussing if we should draft Yakupov or trade the pick for an established Dman. |

When the other team gifts you with three first period goals you didn't really even earn, your goaltending has to find a way to steal that game for you. I know Al was busy last night, but two of those three goals he gave up were horrible and it looked like he didn't even want to be involved in the shootout. |

No, not turning....just facing the facts.
We're not a come-from-behind team and cant afford to give away points to teams we're trying to put in our rear view mirror. When we get a lead, we HAVE to hold it.
Granted, Al needs some work to get back in shape but why not send him down to the AHL for a few games....are they playing favorite to the Tigers at the expense of the big club? I should hope not, tho with this team anything's possible, I guess... |

Don't slam me for saying it but a facts a fact:
Ricky was 3-2-3 this season.
9 of 16 points is over .500.

It wasn't because of his goaltending that they won. Images of him from this year were numerous outside 1st shots on goal flying passed him, him wanting to slam his stick against the net when he gave up a goal he never should have... Shall we continue? |

Travis Hamonic needed stitches and required surgery to repair his broken nose. He is expected to miss two weeks.
Great!!!

Are you saying he is the ONLY Islander goalie that let in the first goal on the first shot??? Because all 3 have done that this year.

Exactly right. I have to wonder if Al is mentally and physically tough enough to be the guy. |
